Mike Song and Tony Tran Collab “Boing Boom Tschak”

Mike Song and Tony Tran both are my favorite dancers of popping ever. They are members of a very famous dance crew called Kaba Modern Legacy from California, America. Kaba Modern has been inspired me to start to dance from the beginning especially Mike Song (on the right of the screen). I actually watch several routines of them but this one really motivates me to try to follow what they are doing here. The dance is really hard especially when it comes to lock the movements. It might not look as tiring as it seems but believe me, I got exhausted after having practiced this dance for about 30 minutes or so. But once I know those moves, it became really fun to dance to.

Asian University Graduation Day

It is the 12th graduation day of Asian University that had happened for half a day. There were 35 graduates and they all looked beautiful and handsome in their suits. The ceremony started at around 9.30 am in an auditorium where it was filled with people; all seats were taken. There were their families and friends of the graduates and it looked as it was one of their special days in their lives. Although, the ceremony took only about an hour or less (due to the number of graduates), but it went all smooth and well. I was on the seat that was almost on the last raw, I can’t help but imagine my self to be one of those places in a year to come. Anyways, here are some photos of this day.

It is time to “reclaim your brains”

What is your favorite hobby to do when you are really bored. Here is what I normally do, playing games online, watching movies and listening to music. I used to play games everyday during the last holiday where I only stayed at home. After months, I just realized how brain washed I was at that time. So I started to search for other things to do but that thing should benefit my brain. I finally came across a website called Lumosity where you can train your brain in a various way. They have courses to train our speed, memory, attention, flexibility and problem solving abilities. After having done those tests for about 20 minutes, I felt like my brain was working like fire, I had to think a lot and at some point, my brain hurt. However I think this is very helpful in a lot of ways. Well I hope you all give a try and share your experience with me.

“Nothing” by Janet Jackson

I don’t think I’ve ever officially said in here that I am a huge fan of the Jackson family’s, especially Michael. I’ve been listening to his songs everyday for almost three months now. I must admit that I still haven’t heard all of his songs because I’m pretty new to his music, but I love what I’ve heard so far. Janet Jackson is also my favorite singer, I used to dance to her songs too. I’m not a huge fan of her, so I don’t know about her songs that much, but yesterday I came across one of her music videos on Youtube and it was a love at first sight (or heard). After 5 seconds of the song, I had to add this song to my favorite songs immediately. “Nothing” is a song recorded for the soundtrack to the 2010 film Why Did I Get Married Too? ( a film where herself took a part as the main character in it). It is an R&B and soul genre, the sound is very smooth and relaxing. Her voice fits this song perfectly as well as the lyric which is very meaningful for someone that doesn’t want to let the one he/she loves go. She also performed this song on American Idol (season9) and after watching it, I was amazed at how good that performance was. And I also think that her voice is very similar to Michael Jackson, of course they are brother and sister, but at some point, I closed my eyes and listened to it, I thought I was listening to Michael singing O.o. (click here to listen to a lowered pitch version to see what I’m talking about). Enough said, here is the music video and the performance version, hope you all like it :)

Character designed

I made this character on 6th October 2010 and I was really proud of it, well I still am today. What really inspired me was that I loved the characters designed in Final Fantasy X (a role-playing video game). I was introduced to this amazing game in 2003 as a Christmas’s present gave by my brother. When I started playing this game, I was amazed by the quality of the animation graphic, I’d never seen anything like this before, along with the sensational story and the music, it makes me love this game even more. Before 2010, I’ve always been interesting in drawing, I actually drew lots of characters from my own imagination but I was not satisfied at all. As years pass by, I improve my drawing skill and in 2010, I felt like I had to really create a complete character and I finally did it on that day.

Another thing that has always inspired me was the design of Britney’s costume from “I’m a slave for you” which was performed by her in the MTV Video Music Awards in 2001. I loved that performance, it was perfect, the dancing, the clothing, the show, the song, Britney herself, everything just blew me away when I first saw it. (You can click here to see the picture of her costume.) So that performance had a huge impact on me, whenever I feel like creating something, it has always inspired me.

In this character, I put a lot of effort in it. I first started drawing her on a typical A4 paper. I erased and modify it a lot of times. When I completed it on the paper, I scanned it and transferred it onto my lab top. I used Photoshop to colorize the character and I actually modified a little bit of the design (you can see it on her left arm). It was my first character design with Photoshop though, because I always find it hard to work on this program especially when using it to draw like you would on a piece of paper. It took me two days to complete this character and I gave her the name which is “Lana”. I don’t know why she should be named it but I only knew I love this name. Since the creation of this character was made, I haven’t done another one yet, I think I might need more inspirations and new ideas beside it. Anyways, here it goes, hope you enjoy it!

What will you look like if…?

What will you look like if you mix (or morph) your face with another person’s face. I’ve found a site which is called Morphthing, it is about the ability of the program on that site, to combine different faces into one but it still remains some origin features of each face to be recognized. I’m going to show you an example:

What I have here are a picture of my face and Michael Jackson’s face (Yes, he is my favorite ^ ^) and had them combined and this is what we look like when we’re as one.

I like this combination a lot because I can still see me in it and I can still Michael in it too. So this is just a little fun activity to do when you’re bored and really have nothing to do. And they also have another program which you can predict what your future baby will look like when you mix your face with your loved one together, but for me, I don’t really like this section because you can tell that they just put up some babies pictures and combine just about 10% of your face and then the rest it’s the already existed baby facial. But anyway, I hope you try it out and hope you can share them with me. Have a good day everyone :)

A portrait of “Adele” by Patcha

Adele is one of my favorite singers and one of a few artists that I admire and respect a lot. She is a British singer-songwriter. For me, her music is very different from other artists these days where it is not all about auto-tune. When she sings, I feel like she really means it and it all comes from her heart, that’s why her music have touched me a lot. Adele is a very beautiful, gorgeous and talented young woman, and her beautiful face has inspired me to start a drawing of her. In this drawing, I concentrated a lot on the eyes and the nose because for me, these features are the hardest parts to get them right. I used a HB pencil as for the skin tone and for the brighter areas, and I used a 2B pencil to shade darker parts. I spent about 5 hours on this drawing, still I am not fully satisfied with it. I feel like I could do a better job than this but I only spent a few hours on it, like the earrings, I am not a fan to draw any objects with a complicated complexion, but I’d tried my best. I drew it on 9th August, and it is still my latest drawing so far. For the moment, I don’t feel like picking up my pencils and start to draw anybody, I guess I need some inspiration and decide who’s going to be my next model.

Michael Jackson: Don’t stop till you get enough (Acappella version by “duwendermusic”)

Yesterday I was just surfing the internet like I would usually, and I came across a video posted on Youtube by “duwendermusic”. I was speechless at how talented these people are. In this video, they did a cover of one of Michael Jackson’s biggest hit of all time, with an acappella version. They didn’t use any instrumental sounds, they only used their mouths and it sounds as perfect as the original song itself. I myself am a fan of The King of Pop and I love hearing people doing covers of his songs and this one has to be one of my favorite covers of all time. I hope you enjoy this masterpiece like I do :)
